| Nethercote
Fields is a barn conversion, completed in the Spring of 1991. |
| This
mellow old stone building is situated in the tranquil, tiny hamlet of Nethercote,
midway between Great Wolford and Little Wolford on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Although it is quietly tucked away, it is very easily accessible from three
main roads (see map on location page). Indeed, so quiet is it that it is
actually mentioned in 'The Book of Lost Villages,' there having been an
ancient settlement behind the farm on which Nethercote Fields is situated.

The
Building itself is around one hundred years old and was originally used
as a cattle stall; however, the present owners used it as stables up until
the time of the conversion. Horses and sheep still live at Nethercote Farm,
which is a working farm, and Nethercote Fields enjoys an uninterrupted view
across rolling farmland to the hills. These views to the West are particularly
beautiful, and are visible when one is in the sitting room, and from many
other windows including the one above the kitchen sink. |
| The
accommodation, which is all on the ground floor, is carefully planned so
that there is a feeling of harmony and space. No effort has been spared
to provide comfort and quality - in fact, the aim of the owners is to give
the guests the very high standards of living that they enjoy in their own
homes. There are three bedrooms, tastefully decorated with matching duvet
covers and curtains. The two twin-bedded rooms share a bathroom, and the
double-bedded room has a shower room ensuite. Again, the high quality of
all the fittings is evident even at a cursory glance. This same quality
is displayed in the exceptionally well-fitted kitchen. The units themselves
are oak, and there is a dishwasher, washing machine/dryer and fridge/freezer.
No need to bring your own towels and bed linen, as this is all provided
in your rental. We are sorry, but we cannot allow dogs, but children are
welcome, and cot and baby-sitting are available on request from the owners. |
