Warwick Castle

Nearby to Great Wolford are the famous Hidcote and Kiftsgate Gardens, and of course, Stratford-Upon-Avon and Warwick - the latter having the oldest Medieval castle in England. (Featured on the left).

For those who wish to explore further afield, Blenheim Palace (Featured below) the home of the Duke and Duchess of Marlborough, is a pleasant 30 minutes drive away and well worth a visit, and

almost within sight of the Palace's grounds is Bladon, where Sir Winston Churchill is buried.

The 'dreaming spires' of Oxford are only a few miles beyond Blenheim. Oxford is also famous for its University, and where the hit tv police drama 'Inspector Morse' was filmed. A visit to the excellent shops could perhaps be coupled with a cultural tour of some of the colleges.

Great Wolford itself has a lovely old pub, only five minutes walk from Lower Farm Barn and 10 minutes walk from the Nethercote Cottages, where

Blenheim Palace
traditional English home-made pub food is served. All this seems a million miles away from the bustle of the capital, and yet London can be reached in less than two hours either by car or by the main line train from Moreton-in-Marsh which is just five miles from Great Wolford.
